Our People

Mark Smith & Jane Watson

Mark and Jane met at the RSPB Film Unit and worked on several films together there. They then spent two years in the remoter areas of Scotland, filming a wildlife series for BBC on the animals & people of the country. Since going freelance in 1996 they have produced and filmed many programmes for the BBC Natural History Unit & National Geographic Television, and travelled widely. They worked for Mike Birkhead on his "Land of the Tiger" series in India, and filmed "The Last Tusker" in Sri Lanka.

Their most recent success "Flying Devils" was filmed over a two year period in the Falklands and won an Emmy award for outstanding cinematography in 2001.

Mark has recently returned from Australia where he’s been filming for David Attenborough’s latest series “The Life of Mammals” and he has now started shooting Mike’s film about the Indian Wolf for BBC Natural World
